UNWTO seeks ideas to recover tourism after Covid 19

(Quito, Pichincha 04.01.2020) The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) called for entries on «Healing Solutions for Tourism Challenge», an initiative that seeks ideas to revive the sector after the global crisis caused by the Covid-19 outbreak.

The competition was developed jointly with the World Health Organization as a global call to entrepreneurs and innovators in the sector to submit ideas to mitigate the impact on tourism through health, economic and destination management solutions.

Entries will be accepted until April 10 through the website https://www.unwto.org/. As the UNWTO stated, these ideas must have passed the pilot testing phase and be ready to scale, with a business plan already tested, and the potential to be applied in many countries.

The most viable and ready-to-implement ideas of the «Healing Solutions for Tourism Challenge» will be invited for a business presentation to representatives of more than 150 governments. In addittion, they will have access to the UNWTO Innovation Network, which is conformed by hundreds of start-ups and leading companies from all over the tourism sector.
