Great news for tourism! Ecuador and its tourism business obtained 10 awards in the 28th edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA), at the South America’s categories.

Ecuador won for the sixth time as the region’s leading Green Destination. In addition, it’s the second time the country won as leading Natural Destination and leading Whale Watching Destination.

The excellence of the services and the experience of private and public companies in the country was also recognized, achieving the following awards:

• Wyndham Quito Airport – South America’s Leading Airport Hotel 2021
• Wyndham Guayaquil – Leading urban hotel in South America 2021
• Mashpi Lodge – Leading Eco-Lodge in South America 2021
• Metropolitan Touring – South America’s Leading Tour Operator 2021
• Public and Municipal Company of Tourism, Civic Promotion and International Relations of Guayaquil – Tourism Office of the leading city in South America 2021
• Guayaquil – South America’s Leading City Break Destination 2021
• Guayaquil – Leading meeting and conference destination in South America 2021

Ecuador obtains these important recognitions thanks to the support of all the local and world travelers, showing these country is one of the destinations with the greatest tourist potential in the region.

Votes were cast by travel industry professionals and the public, the nominee who garnered the most votes was declared the winner of the category.
