During the night, by thermal camera, continuous emissions of gas and water vapor, which reached a height of 500 meters above the crater, in west direction were observed. Also, during these emissions, brightness due to the heating of the gases because of the magma present in the volcano was recorded. This morning, the volcano dawned clear, so emissions of gases and water vapor that reach a height of 1.000 meters above the crater are observed. The column is directed to the south and southwest. No rains were registered in the sector and the seismicity shows a slight increase in the movement of magma and fluids inside the volcano.

The Ministry of Tourism visited affected areas with staff of the Secretary of Risk Management, Geophysical Institute and Municipality of Mejia.

The Ministry of Environment authorizes Tambopaxi, located within the Cotopaxi National Park, remains closed as a precaution.
